CenterDC is thrilled to co-host this event with our sister-org, Tikkun Leil Shabbat this coming Friday, 12/30/16.
Please join us on Friday, December 30 for an evening of Muslim-Jewish connection, candlelight, song, prayer, and potluck! Center DC and Tikkun Leil Shabbat will be gathering jointly for a joint Kabbalat Shabbat (welcoming Sabbath) service, calls to prayer from both traditions, simultaneous Muslim “isha” prayers and Jewish “maariv” services, and a potluck vegetarian dinner.
The service will be row seating, a cappella. Please bring a vegetarian entree or salad to share; there will be one table for hekhsher-only (i.e. kosher-certified) vegetarian potluck items and a second table for vegetarian potluck items.
Two opportunities to light Hanukkah candles with the TLS community will precede the service — details in comments.
Services begin at 6:45 pm; dinner around 8:15 pm in the 15th St. Presbyterian building, 1701 15th St. NW (R & 15th NW). Please enter the building through the back, from the parking lot off of R Street. For more information, visit www.tikkunleilshabbat.org.
